We are now hiring for the 2026 spring season at Green Barn Garden Center in Isanti! 

UPDATE 4/6/26: We are wrapping up hiring soon. We are still talking with current applicants, and applicants interivewed are still under consideration. We will still accept new applications for experienced sales poistions in our plant departments.  Short term seasonal (mid April-mid June) and longer term options can be discussed. 

 

Greenhouse or Nursery Sales: This position is ideal for those who love to share garden knowledge and have strong experience in one or all the greenhouse/nursery departments (vegetables, perennials, annuals, or trees & shrubs). Duties include assisting with plant selection, providing garden care advice, helping with on-the-spot container or garden designs, occasional stocking, maintaining greenhouse or nursery displays, and maintenance of plants in the sales area. Positions are full time or part time seasonal from mid-April to mid-June. We are specifically looking for weekend and evening shifts this season. We also have morning or full day positions for regular availability throughout May. Weekday shifts are until closing (7pm typically). Weekend shifts end at 5:30pm. Other shifts may be considered based on specific department. Previous greenhouse sales experience, and/or related certification or training are generally required. Applicants should demonstrate a strong base knowledge to answer most questions in the greenhouse or specific department. Starting wage is $15-$18 hourly (varies with experience, shift, and availability. Wage may increase for experienced leadership roles in these areas.)

UPDATE 4/6: Specific shifts and departments we are seeking applicants to fill postions during peak season:

Part Time Vegetable Plant Department customer service: Applicants should be comfortable answering questions about vegetable gardening based on local University and industry standard recommendations. Shifts can alternate with a return staff member (typically 1 weekend day and several weekdays). 10am-4pm is a typical shift. Closing shift is also an option (until 7pm during the week). This position runs late April or May 1-mid June. 

Greeenhouse Sales: as listed above with part time or fill time seasonal options. Typical shift opportunities: 9-5:30, 10:30-7, 9-3, 10-4, or afternoon until close (7pm). 25-40 hours per week.

Nursery Sales: Applicants should be comfortable selling trees and shrubs with knowledge of most nursery varieties and plant care topics, and helping with on the spot designs. Applicants should have previous experience and/or training specific to this department. Shifts needed: weekday evenings (2, 3, or 4pm-7pm), and/or weekends. There can be a weekend only position with regular availability 9-5:30 weekends mid April-mid June.
