We are now hiring for the 2026 spring season at Green Barn Garden Center in Isanti!

Positions are briefly described below. Scroll to the bottom for a printable application. Hiring age for most positions currently available is 16+:

Seasonal Garden Center Associates: Responsibilities include cashiering, stocking store products, assisting guests with product selection and planting advice, and other duties as needed. Positions are seasonal from April-mid June. There may be opportunity to extend into summer or later. Available shifts include full-time seasonal or part-time. Currently, evening shifts are needed for both (until close). Store hours are 9am-5:30pm or 6pm, then 9am-7pm throughout May (weekend store hours remain 9-5:30). Weekend availability is required for this position. Starting wage is $14-$18 hourly (varies with experience, shift, and availability)

Greenhouse Production (Spring) and/or Field Production (Summer): Responsibilities include transplanting seedlings, watering, trimming and maintaining greenhouse plants, moving plants, spacing plants, soil preparation, preparing orders, and other duties as needed. Positions for greenhouse production are full-time seasonal from March-mid June with the likely opportunity to continue into field production during the summer. Field production includes field transplanting and harvest, vegetable packaging and sorting, order preparation, and other duties as needed. Full-time or part-time seasonal options available. Starting wage is $14-$16 hourly (varies with experience, shift, and availability)

Greenhouse Sales: This position is ideal for those who love to share garden knowledge and have strong experience in one or all the greenhouse/nursery departments (vegetables, perennials, annuals, or trees & shrubs). Duties include assisting with plant selection, providing garden care advice, helping with on-the-spot container or garden designs, occasional stocking, maintaining greenhouse or nursery displays, and maintenance of plants in the sales area. Positions are full time or part time seasonal from mid-April to mid-June. We are specifically looking for weekend and evening shifts this season. Weekday shifts are until closing (7pm typically). Weekend shifts end at 5:30pm. Other shifts may be considered based on specific department. Previous greenhouse sales experience, and/or related certification or training are generally required. Applicants should demonstrate a strong base knowledge to answer most questions in the greenhouse or specific department. Starting wage is $15-$18 hourly (varies with experience, shift, and availability)

Seasonal Greenhouse Staff: Duties include stocking plants from our production greenhouses to our display greenhouse, trimming and cleaning plants, sweeping and maintaining a safe and attractive retail space, and assisting customers with locating items as needed. This position is full time or part time seasonal from mid-April to mid-June. This position may begin sooner during planting time in March-early April. Weekend shifts are 9-5:30. Weekdays close at 6pm in April and 7pm in May-June. Our greatest need is evening shifts for open positions. Starting wage is $13-$16 hourly (varies with experience, shift, and availability)

Nursery Assistant and Carryout: Duties include stocking retail greenhouse, nursery and store areas as needed, gathering carts from the parking lot, assisting customers with loading large items including bagged garden supplies, trees, and shrubs along with regular orders. This is a part time or full-time seasonal position from March-mid June with potential summer opportunity in production (see above). The position can begin earlier to include planting trees and nursery items and can extend later in the season to include work with vegetable production.  Starting wage is $13-$14 hourly (varies with experience, shift, and availability. Duties of this position are sometimes combined with others listed affecting starting wage.)
